NEW YORK, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Qcorps Residential Inc. today
announced that Cox Communications' cable systems in Hampton Roads
and San Diego have agreed to offer communications products and
services through the Navy Exchange Service Command's (NEXCOM)
Military Moving Center, effective immediately. The NEX Military
Moving Center was launched in mid-July under a contract with Qcorps
Residential Inc. The NEX Military Moving Center is a Navy-wide
initiative to improve quality of life for military personnel and
their families designed to reduce the stress associated with frequent
military relocations at no cost to the Navy.
"Cox's decision to offer its services through the NEX Military
Moving Center is a great example of the company's commitment to
supporting our military personnel," said John W. Meyers,
Chairman and CEO of Qcorps. "There are approximately 140,000
military personnel in the Hampton Roads and San Diego service
areas and Cox Communications' participation in the NEXCOM Moving
Center will have a positive impact on morale and quality of life
for these men and women and their families."
"While frequent relocations are a necessary element in
maintaining a force capable of far-reaching and complex military
operations, we are constantly looking for ways to reduce the associated
inconvenience and stress," said Rear Admiral William J. Maguire,
Commander, NEXCOM.
Through the NEX Moving Center, Cox will offer its popular bundle
of local and long distance telephone services, digital cable television,
and high speed Internet services in its Hampton Roads and San
Diego service areas. These services can be bought separately or
bundled together for discount savings and billed on single or
multiple statements.
"We are pleased to have the opportunity to join NEXCOM
in this forward-thinking initiative to improve the quality of
life for military personnel and their families," said Pat
Esser, EVP, Operations, Cox. "The NEX Moving Center is an
innovative way to offer our products and services to U.S. military
personnel, and, at same time, make the relocation experience as
easy, convenient, and positive for them as possible."
The Military Moving Center offers Cox's services through the
Qcorps Resident Connection Service Network and enables military
personnel to order and manage home-related services at a central
online location. The NEXCOM Military Moving Center is available
to active duty Navy members plus the over 9 million additional
authorized members of the Navy Exchange, including members of
other armed services. Accessing the NEX Moving Center directly

military personnel can compare offerings from a broad range of
service providers to select and manage change of address forms,
local and long distance telephone service, cable and satellite
television, Internet access, newspaper subscriptions, moving services,
furniture and appliance rental, and other household services.
The NEXCOM Moving Center provides significant benefits to military
households in several distinctive ways. It saves time by enabling
members to arrange all of their household services quickly (typically
3 minutes per service) without the inconvenience of waiting on
hold or searching for available service providers at their address.
