SOLUTIONS FOR SMALL BUSINESSES
Flat rate, unlimited calling package will provide small businesses
with the ability to better project and budget telecommunication
costs. Cox is the first to offer commercial unlimited calling
in CT.
Manchester, CT – Cox Business, the commercial
broadband division of Cox Communications, today introduced an
unlimited long distance calling package; enhanced calling features;

Unlimited Long Distance Calling
Cox Business’ new Unlimited Long Distance Calling
Plan, is available on up to 10 lines for customers purchasing
up to 25 phone lines. The plan costs a flat rate of $20.00 per
month plus the basic line rate, and can save customers about 20%
as compared to SBC. About 75% of Connecticut businesses are considered
small businesses with fewer than 500 employees. Among the challenges
for small business owners is predicting long distance charges
that often range from $200 to $500 a month.
Mark Scott, vice president of Cox Business, said, “Many
small businesses fail because they can’t accurately anticipate
or plan for their telecommunication expenses. Unlimited long distance
calling for $20 a month means that small businesses such as engineering
firms, law offices and insurance agencies will be better able
to predict and budget long distance expenses from one month to
the next while saving money. We are delighted to be the first
telephone company to offer commercial unlimited long distance
calling within Connecticut,” Scott said.
New Calling Features for Small Businesses
According to Scott, sophisticated calling features such as four-digit
dialing; interoffice connections; caller ID and call forwarding;
were once reserved for larger companies with a minimum of five
business lines and bigger budgets. Opting for these features meant
the investment, ownership and maintenance of an intricate phone
system – a cost most small business cannot afford. Cox Business
Services’ new Centrex package makes these features available
to small businesses with as little as two business lines. Among
the key benefits of the Cox Centrex system is the use of four
digit extensions to reach remote office locations without incurring
outside calling charges.
“With no onerous line requirements and equipment commitment,
Cox Centrex is ideal for businesses that can’t afford to
maintain their own phone system. All of the switching equipment
needed is located at Cox,” said Scott.
Product Bundling Options Reduce Costs – Basic Video for
$5.00

monthly telecommunications costs when they purchase a package
of voice, video and data. With the new bundling options, commercial
customers who purchase Cox Digital Telephone with long distance

“Cox Business not only offers Internet, Web hosting,
