Cox Communications Ranks in the Top 10 of the 2003 "A+ Employers"
Survey
Conducted by the Atlanta Business Chronicle
ATLANTA, September 22, 2003 –- In the second annual A+ Employers
survey conducted by the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Cox Communications
was ranked as the seventh "Best Place to Work" in Atlanta
among companies with 1,000 or more employees. Last year, Cox ranked
tenth moving up three spots in this year's survey.
Nearly 130 companies participated in the survey. This year's A+
Employers were determined by a combined score based on company
benefits including tuition reimbursement and traditional medical
benefits; company evaluation of work-life policies and ethics;
and employee attitude surveys conducted at each participating
firm.
According to the Chronicle survey, employees voice respect for
company leadership, citing family atmosphere, open-door policies
and ethics as some of the most admired qualities. Other qualities
that employees mention include training for work-life issues,
growth and development opportunities and flexibility regarding
work schedules.
"At Cox, we’re committed to offering our employees
continuous feedback and continuous learning opportunities for
career advancement and personal and professional development,"
said Jim Robbins, President and CEO, Cox Communications. "That’s
another reason we encourage and support work-life balance -- it's
good for employees, good for our company and good for our customers."
